Victory Day Poem In Memory of the Perished
With stalwart determination, thrust onto the battlefield, They lived and fought and died, wounds that have never healed. To thwart an infestation, borne from the bowels of hell, So bravely fought with pride, so many millions fell,
Against evil deviation, fascisms evil creed, Born in the minds of men, blood letting wert their need. Such blasphemous devastation, wrought on this land of ours, Must ne’er be allowed again, to exist under the stars.
So bravely did they perish, their ultimate sacrifice, We must never forget, or we will pay the price. Their memory we must cherish, pass down into the ages, Bowed head with deep regret, as time turns its drab pages.
And everything around you, at once you know it’s true And all that we can see, we owe it all to you. Thanks must be given unto, you Veterans one and all, Because of you we’re free, you brought fascism’s fall.
And in my humble way: I’ve nothing else to give. I try to scribe this poem, for the land where I do live. In memory of this day; Your lives are gone forever Your ghosts forever roam, our tears would fill a river.

02-23-2007 Happy Protectors of the Fatherland Day !!! Today is another great holiday here is Russia. Today is a day when Russians remember all of us who have done anything to protect Russia. It also doubles as Men's Day, which was done to off-set Women's Day. On this day men get presents and the women they know are supposed to be particularly nice, which can mean what you wish it to. I am touched every year when I get presents and phone calls and messages and thank all of you. While on the topic of holidays I had wanted to post something last Sunday about another great holiday which occurred, last Sunday. It was, for like of a better translation "Forgiveness Sunday", it started with one of my students sending me a message in English, at ten in the morning when, of course I was sleeping. This student, a nice young man in his early teens, sent me an SMS stating that he was "Sorry for everything.", as would happen to anyone experienced working with young people, the alarm bells went off. This behavior was completely out of character and I thought the worse. So thinking that the young man was about to do something stupid, like pulling a trigger or swallowing some deadly substance, I promptly answered telling him that he was a good boy and a good student and that I was proud to be his teacher. While waiting for an answer I started to look for his parent's number when I get a message saying that it was " Forgiveness Sunday", I breathed a mental sigh of relief and told him not to scare me like that. If what is wanted is a Western style society which is cowed to the US and her interests then that will entail the killing of almost all Iraqis for the sole reason that they do not want us there. If we are to save face and regain the moral upper ground, we as civilized people must impeach, imprison, and sentence those responsible for the treasonous way that the whole fiasco in Iraq was brought about. Then we must pull everything we got in the area out as quickly as possible. Not in a month or a week but in days. The war profiteers will just have to suffer a little for the greater good, for let's face it, that is what the whole thing was about to begin with. Oh, and King George's revenge. Fall back!
