Why Americans Should Like President Putin Once again we see the U.S. government willing
to throw the EU’s economy under the bus by making it pay for U.S.
belligerency, hegemony and the U.S. push towards global domination.
Europeans ought to understand that there is no drive by Russia to revive a
global empire or come charging through the Fulda Gap to threaten the EU.
Such threats are as anachronistic as Soviet 5-year plans.
Nevertheless, the U.S. has pushed NATO to expand to the same extent that the
Warsaw Pact has contracted, and it is the U.S. who threatens Russia and
seeks to destabilize and divide Russia for the purpose of exploiting Russian
natural resources. Russia’s foreign military bases consist of
Abkhazia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Ossetia, Syria,
Tajikistan, Transnistria and Vietnam. Considering Georgia attacked and
slaughtered unarmed Russian-speaking villages and citizens in Ossestia and
Abkhazia, these two “bases” amount to little more than protectorates of
pro-Russian minorities, many of whom were dislocated during Soviet-era
directed migrations. It is the U.S. that has 1,000 military bases in 120
countries. The U.S. spends more than eight times what the Russians spend on
military spending. This does not include the hundreds of billions the U.S.
spends on bribes, foreign aid, maintaining dictatorships, funding proxy
wars and paying for the Israeli slaughter of Palestinains. While Russia has integrated itself into the
European economy and has sought stability while resisting the urge to throw
its weight around, the U.S. has acted in the words of President Putin “as a
monkey with a hand grenade”. It is the fact that the U.S.’s foreign
policy is incoherent, and with its ridiculous propaganda campaign through
a corporate-controlled media Obama seeks to portray Putin as an evil genius
planning to give rise to the former Soviet Union. This is nonsense and
the elites know it. The elite seek war with Russia because they will profit
from it and are not the ones to be killed. In fact, not only will they
profit from war, but they will profit from the funding of military spending
and then profit again from reconstruction contracts and lastly profit again
from the theft of Russian resources. War has become a self-perpetuating
profit machine for the elite. Europeans also ought to understand that with
the U.S. empire in decline and the bills coming due for waging two
decade-long wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in a vain attempt to control Middle
East oil, the U.S. seeks to reduce Iran to a vassal state and regain control
of Iran’s energy resources as it had under the Shah prior to the 1979
Islamic Revolution. This is why the U.S. still funds Iranian terrorist
groups such as Jundallah, MKO, and other Sunni terrorist groups that seek to
initiate sectarian war while the U.S. claims to be fighting a Global War on
Terror against Sunni extremism. This is also what they plan to do in Russia
with CIA funded NGOs such as USAID and National Endowment for Democracy. Europeans understand that Crimea was a part of
Russia and only became part of Ukraine because of an administrative move
made by the Kremlin during the reign of the Soviet Union. Europeans
also understand that the U.S. instigated a fascist coup by funding
opposition groups to the tune of $6 billion in order to destabilize the
Ukraine and interfere with its desire to remain in the Russian orbit. But,
now the Ukrainian people have begun an anti-war campaign and we will see if
the fascist government will continue to wage war or accept the democratic
will of the people and their desire for peace. Ukraine’s desire to remain a
Russian ally was due in no small part to Russia subsidizing the Ukrainian
economy to the tune of $35 billion over four years, which was a much larger
aid package than what both the U.S. and the EU were willing to provide.
Most of the aid to Ukraine has gone to the banking elite without one cent
making its way to the people. If the West cuts off funds to Russia, do not
be surprised when the BRICS nations begin their international banking
operations to challenge the IMF and World Bank. In doing this, China will
have something to do with the trillion dollars it is holding and Russia will
end up being able to pay interest to itself and its economic partners. Such
a situation will end the reign of the petroldollar and create such massive
inflation that the American people will bring down the U.S. empire and all
its imperial interests. Why is it the Crimeans are terrorists merely
because they seek freedom from Ukrainian fascism and security from Ukrainian
artillery barrages as did the people in South Ossetia and Abkhazia in
Georgia? If the U.S. seeks war and it goes nuclear, it
will be the end of the U.S. and the rise of the BRICS nations. If
Russia does go nuclear, I ask merely that it only bomb Washington D.C.
I think most Americans would understand and while the U.S. would want to
retaliate most citizens would be inclined to excuse this transgression for
the relief it would bring to America. Joseph Zrnchik can be reached
